"The one who comes from above is above all; the one who is from the earth belongs to the earth, and speaks as one from the ea rth." John 3:31
Like other verses, there are many ways to interpret it. My first thought was conservation. Too many times I have come across garbage along a beautiful body of water. It makes me sad that people disrespect what was given to us. It isn't our right to do as we please with nature. We should hold ourselves accountable and take care of our streams, rivers, ponds, lakes, and oceans. Not just these, but all natural habitats. It's the only way to guarantee the future of planet and the beautiful creatures that inhabit it.
My second thought was one translation of tenkara meaning "From Heaven". The best thing about tenkara for me is how close I feel with nature and how it brings peace to me. Sure, "western" fly fishing is fun, but it doesn't quite have the same effect!
